The late Mary Schubert of Camp Hill, Pa., bought them directly from the Zooks in the 1980s. Abner Zook (1921-2010) and Aaron Zook (1921-2003) were Amish identical twins/visual artists both known for creating intricate three-diamensional sculptural dioramas. An Abner (Womelsdorf, Pa., Feb. 1983) 16-by-25-inch diorama summer wheat harvesting scene depicting horses pulling a McCormick Deering binder with driver and a farmstead in background realized $18,700, while a later Abner piece (Newmanstown, Pa., 2000) 21-by-36-inch diorama sawmill scene depicting Pine Hollow Stoltzfus Sawmill sold for $20,900. An unusual Abner (Womelsdorf, Pa., 1986) 19-by-31-inch diorama water pump scene with a clock inserted on one half sold for $8,250. Other items sold in the sale included a group of 241 pieces of Fiesta multi-colored china selling for $4,840; a porcelain Willard Battery sign, $770; a large Limoge vase, $495; a coin collection, $12,950; and an early Manheim, Pa., $5 note, $825.
