The Morgan Library And Museum Digitizes Tabarant Collection Of Manet Photographs

June 03, 2022

The Morgan Library and Museum is pleased to announce the digitization of five albums containing historic photographs of work by the artist douard Manet (183283). These albums are part of the Adolphe Tabarant collection, acquired by the Morgan in 1974 as the gift of Mrs. Charles Engelhard and her children in memory of Mr. Charles Engelhard (191771). The collection also includes books from Manets personal library, many letters to and from the artist, and his only surviving sketchbook, which the Morgan digitized and made available on its website in 2019. This initiative underscores the Morgans ongoing commitment to scholarly initiatives through its digitization projects. To learn more, visit www.themorgan.org.
