National Association Of Watch & Clock Collectors Inc. Welcomes New Executive Director

Rory McEvoy To Leave England For Columbia, Pa., Post

March 18, 2022

The National Association of Watch & Clock Collectors Inc. (NAWCC) has appointed a new executive director. Rory McEvoy was unanimously approved by the board of directors to assume the role and will work from the NAWCCs headquarters in Columbia, Pa. McEvoy has a wealth of experience in horology, the study of timekeeping, clocks, and watches. As NAWCC board member Rich Newman stated, His background as a horologist, curator, manager, and instructor is a great fit and solidly aligns with our education, fundraising, and membership growth objectives. Rory and his wife, Kaai, will be relocating from England. Prior to joining the NAWCC, Rory taught horological theory, history, and the practical repair and making of clocks and watches at Birmingham City Universitys School of Jewellery. Previously, he served as Curator of Horology at the Royal Observatory, Greenwich. He has also operated his own antique clock business and ran clock sales for Bonhams auctioneers. Rory shared, For me, the most rewarding part of my work is community, meeting people along the way and sharing passions for collecting and knowledge. Ours is a big subject that intersects with every aspect of life, and we as individuals cannot hope to know it all. This is why I strongly believe it is critically important to promote and deliver the NAWCCs core values and strengthen its foundations for the future study of clocks and watches. About the NAWCC The NAWCC Inc. is a 501(c)(3) charitable education organization with a worldwide membership of nearly 10,000. The NAWCC operates the worlds largest museum, research library, educational institution, and international community dedicated to the art and science of clocks, watches, time, and timekeeping. For more information on membership, the museum, library and research center, or education program, call 717-684-8261 or visit www.nawcc.org.
